Metro Performance Glass has announced an organisational change and the appointment of a new director.

Nick Hardy-Jones has been appointed as the NZ country manager, a newly created role.

Hardy-Jones, who has been with Metro since 2016 and served as the South Island general manager, will focus on leading the New Zealand business and supporting the implementation of the revised business strategy.

He will report directly to executive director Simon Bennett.

In addition, Steve Hamer, the Australian chief executive, is set to retire in September 2025 and will join the Metro Group board as a non-executive director.

Hamer will also contract to Metro Group in a part-time strategy role.

Metro Glass said it expects to appoint an Australian country manager to succeed Hamer in the coming months.
