Auckland Airport has announced the appointment of Murray Burt as its new chief infrastructure officer.

Burt, who has decades of infrastructure leadership experience, will be responsible for leading the airport's infrastructure development programme.

He previously held the position of director of infrastructure and place at Auckland Transport, where he oversaw the organisation's transport asset portfolio and 10-year capital programme.

Prior to that, Burt worked for the United Nations Refugee Agency, managing infrastructure delivery programmes in 60 countries.

Auckland Airport's chief executive, Carrie Hurihanganui, said Burt's expertise and experience in large-scale developments made him a valuable addition to the team.

Burt, a chartered professional engineer, will officially join the company on January 19, 2026.
