New Talisman Gold Mines has announced the imminent dispatch of its first shipment of gold concentrate from the Talisman Mine.

The shipment, weighing 1005kg with an average grade of 181g/t, is currently packaged and awaiting final shipping instructions from the receiver.

This marks the first meaningful production and sale of gold concentrate from the site in over 80 years.

The company said recent enhancements at the processing plant, including the relocation of cyclones, upgrades to the pumping circuit, and the installation of a sluice box, have been completed.

However, New Talisman said mining at the Mystery vein has presented challenges, with narrow portals and restricted accessways slowing material movement.

The current run-of-mine grades average 2.85g/t, which is below expectations.

The company said adjustments have been made and mining has resumed on the vein.

The board will consider the next steps to support ongoing operations and development as they gain more knowledge of the Mystery vein and its grades.
