Nuno Matos named new ANZ CEO

Nuno Matos has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of ANZ, succeeding Shayne Elliott, who will retire in July 2025.

Matos, who has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, will officially take on the role on July 3, 2025.

He previously served as the chief executive of wealth and personal banking at HSBC.

Matos will also join the boards of ANZ Group Holdings and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group as an executive director.
