NZ Windfarms has announced a fixed price variable volume contract for difference (CFD) with Genesis Energy.
The contract, which covers 100% of the output from the recently acquired Hau Nui windfarm, will commence on Jan 1, 2025 and have a duration of three years.
The annual output from the Hau Nui windfarm is expected to be between 12 and 15 gigawatt hours, representing 12% to 14% of the current output of the Te Rere Hau windfarm.
NZ Windfarms acquired the Hau Nui windfarm from Genesis Energy on Oct 25, 2024.
The company said the Hau Nui windfarm, classified as a top-class wind resource, will provide diversity to its portfolio and maintain a revenue stream during the decommissioning and repowering of the Te Rere Hau windfarm.
NZ Windfarms also said t it is actively exploring options to repower and increase the output of the Hau Nui windfarm.
