New Talisman Gold Mines' subsidiary, Rahu Resources, has been granted a minerals exploration permit for an area covering 387 hectares.

The permit, which is valid for five years, adjoins the mining permit held by New Talisman for the Talisman mine near Karangahake.

The company said the new permit presents an opportunity to establish a potential new JORC resource and extend the life of its operations.

Production from the Talisman mine is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025 and will be processed through New Talisman's recently purchased gravity concentration plant.
