Ryman Healthcare has reported 367 sales of occupation right agreements (ORAs) for the quarter ending September 30, 2025.

This includes 93 new sales and 274 resales.

The sales figures, which only pertain to retirement village units, do not include refundable accommodation deposits (RADs) or ORAs on aged care accommodation.

Compared to the previous quarter, sales volumes increased by 9%, marking the second consecutive quarterly increase.

However, they were down 18% compared to the same quarter last year, which was a record quarter for the company.

Ryman's mature aged care centres had an occupancy rate of 95.8% in Q2 FY26, slightly down from 96.3% in Q1.

The company attributed the decline to seasonality in the winter months.

Ryman said it has begun the closure of its rest-home-level-only care centres in Christchurch, as they no longer meet its standards.

Residents are being supported to transfer to other Ryman villages.

Ryman owns and operates 49 retirement villages in New Zealand and Australia, with 15,200 residents and 7,800 staff.
