Santana Minerals has announced that its application for the development of the Bendigo-Ophir Gold Project in New Zealand has been accepted by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) under the Fast-track Approvals Act.
The acceptance of the application means that it meets all the necessary requirements for lodgement and can now proceed to the assessment phase.
The company said the application will be considered by the panel convener, who will determine the makeup of an expert panel.
A decision by the panel is expected to take approximately six months.
If the outcome of the Fast-track Approvals process is positive, construction of the gold project is anticipated to commence in mid-2026.
