Seeka advises market of lower than expected crop volumes

Seeka Limited has announced that early season kiwifruit volumes packed by the company are down significantly due to mild winter temperatures, frost, cyclone and hail.

Total volumes could be down by 20% on the previous year, leading to a potential operating loss for the current year.

The company has proactively reduced costs and slowed its capital expenditure programme, and will provide an update on earnings when the harvest is complete.
