Simon Robertson resigns as Synlait Milk chair

Simon Robertson has resigned as Chair and Independent Director of Synlait Milk Limited.

The company's Nominations Sub-Committee will search for a new Independent Director to fill the vacancy, with the expectation that the new director will also be appointed as Chair.

In the meantime, Paul McGilvary, an Independent Director, has been elected as Acting Chair.

The constitution requires Synlait to have three Independent Directors, so until the vacancy is filled, one Bright Director will abstain from voting on all resolutions.

The company has also updated the membership of its Audit and Risk Committee and People, Environment, and Governance Committee.

Paul McGilvary, who joined the Synlait Board in January 2022, has extensive experience in the dairy sector.
