Synlait has announced that the majority of the cease notices issued to the company have been withdrawn.

The company's acting chief executive, Tim Carter, said there was a positive uplift in cease withdrawal numbers after the half-year result was presented.

He said the support from farmers provides valuable certainty and reflects growing confidence in Synlait, following its return to profitability.

Farmers who withdraw their ceases by May 31, 2025, can still qualify for a one-off additional premium.

Carter also said Synlait has sufficient milk volumes for the 2026 and 2027 financial years, thanks to the progress made by the milk supply team and a higher-than-expected level of inquiries from new farmers.

Synlait is committed to remaining the processor of choice for farmers in Canterbury.
