- Appointed from Customs, where she was chief executive and comptroller. Over 20 years' experience leading large organisations. Chair of the public sector Auckland career board, and a member of the Victoria University of Wellington Business School Advisory Board. Before joining Customs in 2011, Carolyn was deputy commissioner service delivery and deputy commissioner people, capabilities, and governance at Inland Revenue, after being head of human resources and organisational change at Air NZ. Holds a BA from Victoria University.
