Tupu Tonu / Ngāpuhi Investment Fund
- The Ngāpuhi Investment Fund Limited, trading as Tupu Tonu, was established by the Crown in December 2020.
- Aims to restore the Crown’s relationship with ngā hapū o Ngāpuhi, and to use its initial capital of $150 million from the government to acquire, grow, and manage an investment portfolio of assets, including land-based businesses and standard financial assets.
- Investment decisions will be independent of the Crown.
- Part of the fund’s annual revenue will be used for grants to hapū and descendants of Ngāpuhi.
