The Ngāpuhi Investment Fund Limited, trading as Tupu Tonu, was established by the Crown in December 2020.
Aims to restore the Crown’s relationship with ngā hapū o Ngāpuhi, and to use its initial capital of $150 million from the government to acquire, grow, and manage an investment portfolio of assets, including land-based businesses and standard financial assets.
Investment decisions will be independent of the Crown.
Part of the fund’s annual revenue will be used for grants to hapū and descendants of Ngāpuhi.
