- From 2012-2018 held executive leadership roles at the Department of Internal Affairs, including deputy chief executive, stewardship and organisational sustainability and deputy chief executive, strategy and governance.
- Chief Mediator at the Human Rights Commission 2000-2004 and complaints manager at the Office of Race Relations Conciliator 1997-2000.
- Holds a Master of Laws (first class Hons), Auckland University and an LLB (Hons), University of Canterbury.
