Deputy chief executive, head of Te Ihuwaka (education evaluation centre)

  • Leads Te Ihuwaka, ERO’s Education Evaluation Centre, which draws on local and international research to build an evidence base that better supports decision makers.
  • Previously worked in education research and policy in NZ (including as associate deputy secretary at the Ministry of Education), in England (for the Department of Education) and Japan (as a Dawia Foundation Scholar).
  • Has wide experience in social policy and evidence, for example as the head of child poverty in the UK.
  • Chairs the Government’s Women’s Network and has a BA (Hons) in economics.
