Air NZ sees annual earnings rising as much as 60%; shares gain

By Paul McBeth June 24 (BusinessDesk) - Air New Zealand, the national carrier, expects annual earnings to rise by as much as 60 percent, with benign trading conditions continuing into the second half of the year. The shares gained 2.2 percent to $2.58 in today's trading. The Auckland-based airline forecasts normalised pre-tax earnings of between $520 million and $530 million in the 12 months ending June 30, up from $332 million a year earlier, it said in a statement.
