The Holden Astra is back. Again.German carmaker Opel is re-entering the New Zealand market with an electrified range and a target of 1% of the overall market within a year. Opel has hired former Volkswagen NZ head Tom Ruddenklau as New Zealand general manager. Its vehicles will be imported and sold by Automotive Distributors NZ, which is part of the Armstrong’s group.Ruddenklau said the clean-car rebate scheme was a reason for Opel identifying NZ as a new market. “It has identified New Zealand as a market with outstan...
