Carbon certifier turns away from local units

One of New Zealand’s main carbon certification services says it will transition out of using local carbon credits because they no longer comply with international best practice.Toitū Envirocare advises on voluntary carbon and environmental certification programmes for more than 900 businesses, including corporate and privately owned companies.It said carbon credits issued under the PFSI (Permanent Forest Sinks Initiative) and PP89 (Permanent Post 1989 Forest category of the emissions trading scheme) will no longer be accepted for offsetti...
