Dairy products drive 1.4% gain in NZ producer output prices in first quarter

By Jonathan Underhill May 17 (BusinessDesk) - New Zealand producer output prices rose in the first quarter, led by dairy product manufacturing, while inputs were led higher by petroleum and coal. The output producers price index rose 1.4 percent in the first quarter for an annual increase of 4.1 percent, Statistics New Zealand said. Prices paid by producers, the input PPI, rose 0.8 percent in the quarter and 4.2 percent in the year.
