Auckland’s central city economy is breaking away from the rest of the country as high-value service industries, GDP and employment growth outpace New Zealand.A report by Infometrics stated that the national economy entered a brief technical recession in the second half of the March 2023 year as rising interest rates dampened household spending, global demand cooled and extreme weather battered the agricultural sector.
