The escalating squeeze on the gas market is risking greater deindustrialisation unless new and more energy sources can be developed, says Gas Industry Company chief executive Andy Knight.The latest public manifestation of the continuing decline in gas supply has been urea producer Ballance saying it was contemplating a four-month shutdown at the end of September as it could not secure a new long-term contract at a viable price.
