New Zealand’s better-than-expected economic recovery from covid-19 means the government has $1 billion to re-allocate into priority areas.“Our stronger than expected economic performance means we have more options than we had expected to invest in critical services,” said finance minister Grant Robertson in a pre-budget speech at the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.Robertson called on each minister to look at covid-spending in their respective areas of responsibility and decide if it was still needed or could be reprioritised.&...
