More than 27,300 firms have sought wage subsidies for their staff in the first three days they were available.Finance Minister Grant Robertson this week unveiled a $12.1 billion support package to help soften the economic blow facing the economy from the covid-19 pandemic, of which $5.1 billion was expected to support wages.As at 9am today, the Ministry of Social Development had received 27,397 applications for the subsidy – a lump sum payment covering 12 weeks and capped at $150,000 per firm.The ministry had another 1,321 applications for leav...
