Inflation is running hot at 6.9% for the year to March.The headline figure is made up of 11 groups of goods and more than 100 sub-groups.This chart shows how much each of these groups' sub-groups is contributing to the headline inflation rate.The cost of building a new house (purchase of housing) and petrol account for 40% of inflation alone - or about 2.8 percentage points of the headline 6.9% figure.The combined parent groups housing/utilities and transport account for more than 60% of inflation.For a more detailed analysis of the drivers...
