An exodus of New Zealand citizens is driving migrant departures to a record high.International migration figures released by Statistics NZ on Wednesday recorded 130,600 departures for the April 2024 year, an increase of 34% from a year ago and provisionally the highest on record for an annual period.The number of NZ citizen migrant departures was 81,000, with 25,000 NZ citizens arriving as long-term migrants, for a net total of 57,000 departures, which was also a record level for NZ citizens.The recent levels of NZ citizen gross departures have...
