New investment in the Northland rail network lays the groundwork for shifting Ports of Auckland's operations to Northport, according to Regional Economic Development Minister Shane Jones.Jones announced the $109.7 million Provincial Growth Fund investment for KiwiRail at an event in Whangarei today alongside State-Owned Enterprises Minister Winston Peters.
