OceanaGold says an initial study indicates gold reserves of 1.2 million ounces (34 million grams) at its planned Waihi North gold mine, known as Wharekirauponga Underground.The gold mining company is proposing to develop the mine beneath the Coromandel Forest Park to access gold deposits at Wharekirauponga.The results were part of a pre-feasibility study covering its existing Martha Mine at Waihi and the proposed new mine.The initial mineral reserve for Wharekirauponga Underground is 4.1 million tonnes, yielding 9.2 grams of gold per tonne or 3...
