The Reserve Bank of New Zealand will ease mortgage loan-to-value ratio restrictions from Dec 1.“We concluded that the introduction of debt-to-income (DTI) restrictions last year means LVR [loan-to-value ratio] settings can be less restrictive on average,” acting assistant governor financial stability Angus McGregor said.“Easier LVR settings will give banks more flexibility to lend, improving market efficiency and access to credit, particularly for first-home buyers.”Finance Minister Nicola Willis lauded the move.“R...
