Seasonally adjusted retail sales volumes fell 1.9% in the December quarter, marking eight consecutive quarters of decline for retail spending, Stats NZ figures show.The figures are adjusted for inflation to make it easier to look at changes in volume compared with the previous quarter.Actual sales values fell 0.4% in the December quarter compared with the same period in the prior year.Stats NZ said this was the first fall in actual sales values since the nationwide covid-19 lockdowns in the September 2021 and June 2020 quarters.Before...
