Retail card spending was up slightly in December but still below levels in winter before the delta outbreak.On a seasonally-adjusted basis, total retail spending lifted $23 million in December compared to November, or a month-on-on-month increase of 0.4%.The rate of growth has swung to either extreme as the country has bounced in and out of lockdown, but has averaged a 0.26% monthly increase since the beginning of 2020.Fuel was the industry with the largest month-on-month increase in December (up 4.2%) as many Aucklanders filled their tanks and...
