Fatalities, serious injuries and work-related health issues cost New Zealand $4.9 billion in 2023.That’s according to the Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum’s annual State of a Thriving Nation report, released Monday. The costs have grown about 11.4%, or $500 million, since last year – the first time the report was produced.To make its findings, the Forum considers Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) costs, lost income, the statistical value of life, and updates on the changing costs of healthcare and inf...
