Auckland Transport is expected to announce in the next month or two the winner of its new rail franchise contract worth in “excess of $1 billion”.The new franchise, which was tendered in October 2019, will last for eight years with the opportunity for a further five year extension.Several transport conglomerates showed interest in the contract initially but BusinessDesk understands only two have made it to the end of the line: French company Transdev Australasia and a joint bid by Australian UGL and Singapore-based ComfortDelGro.&nb...
