A "slow-motion trainwreck" in the gas sector has tripled a major pulp and timber company’s gas bill, with future supply and price uncertain from week to week.Pan Pac’s managing director, Tony Clifford, said the recent gas supply crunch was near a crisis, but he could only see it worsening.Pan Pac employs more than 800 people in Hawke’s Bay, processing lumber, pulp and fibre, and is also a forestry owner.
