Higher gas and electricity prices, industry closures and decreasing energy security are all forecast over the next decade in the latest study on gas supply and demand.The 2024 Supply and Demand Study, commissioned from EY by Gas Industry Co, shows that, if the current trajectory continues, supply will not meet demand in the absence of imported fuel or a significant domestic gas discovery.Put simply, gas supply has fallen and is projected to continue to fall faster than the reduction in demand.As a result, the gas sector co-regulator concluded t...
