Less than a week before it was due to expire, the Government contract that supplies gas to schools, hospitals and other public agencies has been renewed but only for one year and at almost double the cost.The New Zealand Government Procurement said it had successfully extended the supply agreement for reticulated gas with Genesis.The contract was set to expire on Sept 30, 2024.“We've successfully negotiated with Genesis to continue the supply of reticulated gas to participating agencies and schools for 12 months from Oct 1,” the...
