Electricity system operator Transpower has asked households and businesses to reduce power use tomorrow morning because of a potential shortfall and blackouts.The forecast unseasonal cold snap and low wind generation mean the margin between generation and demand will be less than 200 megawatts, the national grid operator said on Thursday.This means there could be a blackout if there is an unexpected generator outage.A consumer advice notice (Can) was sent to market participants today to increase generation and controllable demand offers between...
