Mining was the only manufacturing industry to buck a quarterly trend of falling emissions to September 2024. Emissions from New Zealand’s manufacturing sector fell 6.2% or 120,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (ktCO2e) between June 30 and Sept 30 last year. Over the same period, the gross domestic product attributed to the sector fell 2.6%.It was the fourth consecutive quarter for falling manufacturing emissions, which fell 7.2% in the 12 months to September 2024.Overall, NZ’s industrial and household emissions fell by 0....
