Falling foreign visitors drag down NZ guest nights
By Hannah Lynch July 11 (BusinessDesk) - New Zealand’s hotels and motels extended their run of falling guest nights in May, led by a decline in international visitor numbers. Total guest nights fell 0.3 percent to 1.9 million in May from the same month a year earlier, according to Statistics New Zealand. The decline came from a 2.7 percent fall in international visitors, to 669,000 guest nights, while domestic guest nights rose 1 percent to 1.2 million.
