Australia-based Cleanaway is looking at buying New Zealand's largest rubbish collector, process and recycler, Waste Management, which Chinese private equity owner Beijing Capital has put up for sale, according to the Australian Financial Review.Cleanaway, then called Transpacific Industries, sold the NZ business in 2014 for NZ$980 million when it had earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of $116m.Infratil's manager, HRL Morrison & Co, which tried to buy the business back then, is also in the running.
