Porirua money-go-round leaves investors out of pocket

Investors in an unregistered Porirua investment firm face substantial losses, with the liquidator saying it doesn't appear any actual investments were made. The dozen or so investors were enticed by the prospect of "good returns" by Options Trading and Investments NZ and told it invested in gold, oil and other commodities. Liquidator Damien Grant says investors each put up to six-figure sums into the firm, which was put into liquidation on June 23.The company’s sole director and shareholder is Tiavare Richard Curti...
