New Zealand’s biggest provider of laboratory services, Awanui (previously known as Asia Pacific Health Group), wants to remove histology (tissue services) from Nelson in a bid to centralise services. Lab worker representative David Munro said 10 Nelson staff members were told on Wednesday their jobs were up for consultation, with a proposal for the workers to be replaced with two part-timers.Awanui currently has five scientists, three technicians and two administrative workers in Nelson, according to Munro, who is a senior advocate f...
