The breakdown of one of the country’s larger electricity generating units is making an already tight winter for supply even tighter, but there is sufficient generation, says system operator Transpower.Genesis Energy’s Huntly power station unit five went down on June 30 and could be offline until the end of July.Unit five can generate 400 megawatts (MW) in its slow-to-fire gas turbine.
