Antarctica New Zealand has had $317 million of its Scott Base budget transferred to a tagged contingency, with release of the funds dependent on a revised business case.The change was made as part of Budget 2024, which reduced capital funding in the 2024/25 year to $22m to allow the crown entity to maintain its existing project team and complete an updated business case.The approved budget for the Antarctic base rebuild is $498m.Of the funds remaining once the $317m was deducted, chief executive Sarah Williamson said the money had either been s...
