The contractor building a troubled pool complex in Christchurch tried to suspend and potentially terminate the construction contract but was stopped in the courts.In a judgment issued on Oct 24 following a hearing in the high court at Auckland, Justice Geoffrey Venning ruled in favour of crown entity Rau Paenga, which had sought orders restraining CPB Contractors.According to a lawyer acting for CPB, the relationship between the parties had “entirely broken down”, and, as “this was a case where Humpty Dumpty could not be...
