KiwiRail spent $8 million contracting McKinsey to assist with a strategic review to enhance its performance and set the company up for growth.Finance Minister Nicola Willis last year criticised the spend, but the figure wasn’t disclosed despite requests from BusinessDesk and others.The NZ Herald complained to the Ombudsman seeking the release of the information but was initially unsuccessful.
