The New Zealand Transport Agency has approved an investment case for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade of key freight corridors in the western Bay of Plenty.Transport Minister Chris Bishop made the announcement on Tuesday, adding that the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) board had also approved $97.2 million for route protection. “Western Bay of Plenty is growing strongly and the government is committed to unlocking its potential,” he said.The project, called Tauriko West, is one of 17 roads of national significance (Rons).According to...
