Spark profit climbs 9.2% on bigger mobile share

Spark New Zealand lifted first-half profit 9.2 percent as it made inroads into the increasingly valuable mobile market, and continued to benefit from a cost-cutting drive.Net profit rose to $167 million in the six months ended Dec. 31, from $153 million a year earlier. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and investment income increased 2.2 percent to $500 million.
