National grid operator Transpower intends to reschedule maintenance work in the South Island after weekend flooding took out one of the four lines it has crossing the Rangitata River between Timaru and Ashburton.Nine transmission towers on the firm’s 220-kilovolt circuit between Contact Energy’s Roxburgh power station and Islington in Christchurch were damaged.One tower was swept away, two are on the ground and a further six are standing but have varying degrees of damage.“There has been no loss of power to communities as a result of the damage...
