Trustpower weighs bids for retail business

Trustpower is weighing up several bids to buy its retail book with 421,000 electricity, gas and broadband connections.The company tested buyer appetite in a strategic review earlier this year, while it gauged whether it would be better to ditch its retail customers and operate as a standalone generator.Today, Trustpower said it has received several non-binding offers and is now allowing due diligence of the retail book.The company had 265,000 electricity customers, 44,000 gas connections, and 112,000 telco customers as at March 31.
