Kathmandu says first half profit slightly stronger on increased Australian sales

By Rebecca Howard Feb. 7 (BusinessDesk) - Kathmandu Holdings said first-half profit was slightly higher from a year earlier, partly bolstered by solid same store sales growth. The Christchurch-based outdoor equipment chain said net profit was $9.9 million on year in the six months to Jan. 31, versus $9.4 million a year ago. Total sales were about $196.3 million compared to $196 million for the comparative prior period.
